What Exactly is Spiritual Growth?
Spiritual growth has been made to be some mystical, esoteric and unfathomable process. However, spiritual growth in essence is growing your awareness to a point where you become aware of realities other than what you experience in a 3D world.
In a 3D world, what do we believe to be real?
Whatever we can see, touch, feel, hear or taste. Anything that our 5 senses can perceive and confirm, we accept that to be real. Anything that cannot be objectively verified in a scientific manner is assumed first to be “unreal” until proven otherwise.
The problem that we face here is the limitation of our measuring instruments. How does a weighing machine measure the weight of a thought? Yet, is a thought “unreal”? You experience thoughts in your head all the time, yet how would you explain a thought to someone else?
It cannot be seen directly. It cannot be touched. It cannot be felt with the hands. It cannot be heard. It cannot be tasted. We can only assume that you had a thought indirectly through the consequences of your actions and words. So does that mean a thought is something that does not exist?
So What Does This Have Got To Do With Spiritual Growth?
There are several versions or interpretations of what spiritual growth is. There is a group of people who believe that spiritual growth is to become one with universal consciousness. Another group believes that spiritual growth is to develop your abilities to the point where you can experience astral travel, telepathy, visions, and even interact with non-physical beings.
And most religions believe that spiritual growth is growing to the point where you accept whatever is taught to you from written books and from the lips of men as the absolute truth without any questions. :-p
Let’s break down the term Spiritual Growth into its two components: Spirit, and Growth.
What is Spirit?
Here are some definitions that I have found. Spirit is…
- The vital principle or animating force within living things.
- A fundamental emotional and activating principle determining one’s character
- Supernatural being or essence
- The non-physical part of a person
And well, Growth is…
- The process of an individual organism growing organically
- A progression from simpler to more complex forms
- Increase: a process of becoming larger or longer or more numerous or more important
- Emergence: the gradual beginning or coming forth
So when we put two and two together, Spiritual Growth simply means the process of the non-physical part (vital principle or animating force) of a person progressing from a simpler to a more complex (the gradual beginning or becoming more) form.
“Spiritual growth is the evolution and increase of the vital animating force within you.”
So What The Heck Does This All Mean?
If you are on the path of spiritual growth, it means you have to leave behind your understanding and beliefs about how the world works in a 3D way. You literally have to open up your mind and soul to new ways of experiencing and confirming truths.
It doesn’t mean to become gullible and believe everything that you read, hear or see. In fact, there are probably quite a few tricksters and scammers in the 3D world who do prey on conscious souls beginning their spiritual growth.
Why do they exist? Probably to teach you to trust yourself, and listen to your own heart and soul. 
To confirm what you experience (or think you experience) with what your soul (inner heart) is telling you.
God alone knows how many perspectives and beliefs there are in human society with regards to metaphysics and spirituality. :-p
If you continue to choose to live in a 3D world, you are missing out on a whole range of unbelievable experiences and information. But if you are here on this site, you probably already are quite curious about growth in all aspects of being. Or perhaps I could be wrong, you may have stumbled across this site in the search for a ham sandwich? 
Spiritual growth is also the essence for finding true and lasting happiness in a 3D world. It is also the place where you will find the essence of who you are, and to come into personal contact with “God”. And perhaps even step into the place of orgasmic bliss known as “nirvana”.
Should You Pursue Spiritual Growth in Your Journey of Personal Development?
Whether you realize it now or not, eventually all paths lead to spirit and consciousness. They lead to the growth of your awareness and wisdom in the application of the tools, techniques and strategies that you learn in the many areas of personal development.
It is the simple answer why 10 people can learn the same technique, and only 1 of the 10 is able to successfully apply it to their life to achieve the results they desire. The other 9 just flop around running from one seminar to the next, hoping to become successful just by attending seminars and not truly understanding what they are being taught.
Wisdom can only come from spirit, because spirit is the life force that animates all living things. It is the thinking substance that gives you life, gives you thought, and guides you in your journey of growth in a 3D world.
And because when you take away your hands, legs, body, head, skeleton and every physical component that makes up your body… where does that leave you?
Are you your hand? Your leg? Your kidney? Are you even your brain? Where do you exist in your physical body?
When you have come to the realization that you are more than your physical being, you have essentially only started your journey of spiritual growth. This is something that many of you who have already begun this path can attest to.
I know… it can be a crazy world.
